I will call him Icarus, because he worked so hard to erase his birth name that I will not commit the sin of returning it to him now. The things I said and did when I knew him will only make sense if you understand how beautiful he was, so I will try to force the words of mortals to describe a man who never seemed to belong to earth at all. Icarus first came to me in the dark, in the rain, passing out of the shadows falling over the street, slipping smoothly into the shadows I…

Gods & Goddesses in an Erotic Romance Series – OH MY!
My first plunge into writing an erotic story was an eye-opener. I enjoy writing in different genre, so the call for submissions at Champagne Book Group’s Carnal Passions for the “Aphrodite’s Island” series was too much of a tease to pass up. A luxurious resort set against the backdrop of sparkling blue seas, endless sun, and white sandy beaches. When Aphrodite opened the resort, it had one give the guests the ultimate in fantasy experiences. The manager, a reclusive young woman known only by Miss 'A' has set in place rules which guide the guests in their quest for the ultimate romantic sensual encounter at a time. The only rules—both parties must consent to the fantasy, and pleasure is the ultimate reward. I love history and mythology – even write history and culture posts for my webpage ( The mythology-based series seemed to be a good fit.  But what to write with a 10,000 word …

Welcome Sean Michael today

Marcus and Jim are getting Hitched, and you're invited!
A long time ago in a galaxy far far away... okay, so it wasn't that long ago, and it was right here at my computer, I wrote a short story featuring Peter and Samuel from the Between Friends books ( that featured a brief appearance of Marcus and Jim. They were throw away characters, right? Just a leatherworker and his boy that Peter and Sammy visit to pick up a leather flogger.
Who could have guessed that Marcus and Jim would take over my brain and bring me the entire Hammer Club, which has just given and given: tons of novels, a bunch of novellas and short stories, and a wide variety of men who are into the BDSM lifestyle. These guys have been so good to me and I've enjoyed every moment of telling their stories.
You can read that original short story as a freebie on my website:
Anyway, so…

Give a warm welcome to Allison Knight

I'll bet you never gave a lot of thought to what you are revealing about yourself when you write a book, especially if the setting is contemporary. Some people don't even think about the words they use to describe certain things, but they will give the reader a very good idea of where you live.
Let me give you a couple of examples. If you are writing a contemporary mystery and you refer to a body draped over the bonnet of a car, or that the thief chased the woman into a car park, you reader will know you are from the British Isles. Why? Because in the Western Hemisphere the bonnet refers to something a woman or a child wears on her head. The metal covering of a car engine in America is called a hood. Then there's the car park. In the US we call it a parking lot. If you look hard, you'll find a lot of language differences.
But it gets even more complicated in the States, even in Canada. The words you choose a…
